Record your name
Your name, in your own voice — exactly the way you say it.
Even familiar names can have more than one pronunciation. If NameShouts doesn’t have your version yet, you can record it on your profile for free, and share it with others.

How to Record Your Name
- Hover over your profile icon in the top right and open My Account
- Go to the My Recording tab
- Allow your browser to use your microphone and speakers
- Find a quiet spot, click Record my name, and follow the on-screen prompts

Add Your Phonetic Spelling and Language
Help people get it right the first time. On My Recording, you can add a phonetic spelling — like wah-keen ray-ess — and choose the language your name comes from. See Add phonetic spelling.
Share Your Recording
Once your recording is saved, NameShouts gives you a shareable link. Add it to your email signature so people can hear your name before they say it. See Share your pronunciation and Add “Hear My Name” to your email signature.
Good to know: Got a verification email from your team? That’s a different flow — it lives on your team’s list. Just open the link and follow the steps on the page.
Where Does My Recording Go?
Your recording is yours to share. NameShouts doesn’t add personal recordings to the public database. We may use anonymized, aggregated recordings to understand how people with the same name say it, the details are in the Terms of Service.
Tip: Treat your voice recording like any other personal info. Share it only through channels you trust, and turn public sharing off when you no longer need the link.
TL;DR
- Record your name from My Account → My Recording — it’s free
- Add your phonetic spelling and language
- Share your link in your email signature
- Personal recordings never go into the public database.
